Gaming
It’s no secret that gaming continues to be popular. With its fast pace, absorbing and interactive nature, gaming can provide a much needed break for people in a fun way. The easy access to games directly in our homes has created higher levels of addiction and gaming linked to loneliness and isolation. With elaborate plots and challenges to level up, video gaming can be a source of escapism and may result in loss of social connection.
Here are a series of articles, videos and other content that we have selected to highlight the ongoing struggle of social isolation, loneliness and disconnection that is amplified by gaming. It’s important to understand how gaming can be linked to feelings of loneliness and the negative consequences that can come from overuse.
